Research.
In order to make an efficient real estate website, I developed interview questions to conduct interviews with target users and understand their needs. I used the insights to identify pain points the users were experiencing.
Pain Points
- 1.Most participants said the listings don’t provide complete information about the property.
- 2.The websites sometimes don’t include authentic photos of the posted property.
- 3.The navigation is not intuitive enough .
Persona.
“Finding your dream home has to be an easy process, so I need a tool that will ease my experience”
Rita Williams
Goals
1. Easier and more intuitive navigation. 2. Easier contact with the agent. 3. More accurate pictures for improved buying confidence.
Frustrations
1. Lack of pictures. 2. Struggle with the size and placement of the buttons. 3. No filter tab to make the navigation easier.
Ideation.
Wireframes.
After ideating and drafting my paper wireframes, I created the initial designs for the Estate web design.
Low Fidelity Prototypes.
Using the completed set of digital wireframes, I created a low-fidelity prototype.
Usability Study.
I conducted a usability study. These were the main findings uncovered by the study which helped guide the designs from wireframes to mockups.
ROUND 1 FINDINGS
- 1.Users need more information about the property that is posted.
- 2.Users said that the search filters are not enough.
- 3.More accesible elements.
ROUND 2 FINDINGS
- 1._
Mockups.
Based on the insights from the usability studies, I applied design changes.
High Fidelity Prototypes.
Takeaways.
Impact.
Users said that finding a home is not difficult anymore as the website offers all the ways to improve this process.
What I learned.
I learned that even a small design change can have a huge impact on the user experience. The most important takeaway for me is to always focus on the real needs of the user when coming up with design ideas and solutions.
