Medio is a tool that helps people remember to take medicine on time and organize their therapies all in one platform

The problem

A lot of patients and vulnerable groups are unable or forget to take their medicines on time.

Create a cross platform tool that will help people schedule the treatments and take medicines on time.

Research.

In order to make an efficient cross-platform tool, I developed interview questions to conduct interviews to understand the users I’m designing for and their needs. A primary user group identified through research was older people who don’t remember to take their medicines on time. I used the insights to identify pain points the users were experiencing.

Ideation.

I did a quick ideation exercise to come up with ideas for how to address gaps identified in the competitive audit. My focus was specifically on the add medicine features and the reminders.

Wireframes.

After ideating and drafting my paper wireframes, I created the initial designs for the Medio cross-platform tool.

Low Fidelity Prototypes.

Using the completed set of digital wireframes, I created a low-fidelity prototype.

Usability Study.

I conducted a usability study. These were the main findings uncovered by the study which helped guide the designs from wireframes to mockups.

ROUND 1 FINDINGS

  • 1.
    Reminders: the most users want a reminder, so they take their medicines on time.
  • 2.
    Add medicine: 3/5 want an easy way to add a new treatment.
  • 3.
    Calendar : All of them believe that a calendar will be a perfect solution for an organized treatment.

Takeaways.

Impact.

Users said that taking medicines is not difficult anymore as the app offers all the ways to improve this process.

What I learned.

I learned that even though the problem I was trying to solve was a big one, diligently going through each step of the design process and aligning with specific user needs helped me come up with solutions that were feasible and useful.

Next Steps.
